Turn a whole channel into a Word booklet
Sometimes you want to read a favorite lecture channel like a book. Instead of opening each video and copying its captions, here is how to bind a whole channel's transcripts into one Word document with a table of contents, starting from a single channel link.
1. Copy the channel link
On YouTube, click the channel name to open the channel page. Copy the address from the address bar (for example https://www.youtube.com/@ChannelName). If you only want one playlist, copy the playlist page address instead.
2. Paste it into the dashboard and start
Paste the link into the dashboard and it immediately shows what it recognized, such as "1 channel". Press Start: it first reads the channel's video list, then reads the transcript of each video.
Large channels take time — about 30–50 minutes for 100 videos. You can do other work meanwhile, but do not close the small collection window the extension opens.
3. Download the Word booklet
When it finishes, press Word booklet. The first page is a table of contents, and each video starts on a new page with its title, channel, publish date and link. With timestamps turned off, the text is grouped into easy-to-read paragraphs.
4. Next month, collect only the new videos
Under Past jobs at the bottom of the dashboard, press Get new videos. Videos you already have are skipped and only newly uploaded ones are collected. The booklet still includes the earlier videos too.
Good to know
- Videos without captions (transcripts) cannot be collected.
- You can collect up to 50 videos a day. Split large channels over several days.
- Use the transcripts for personal study and research only. Copyright belongs to the video creators.
